The Florida Plant

Baptisms, New Preacher & New Steeple

March 21, 2022

Obedience to the Great Commission continues to be our mission and focus at the Florida Plant. As we plow new ground, plant and water seeds we are seeing a steady crop of new converts who are coming to Christ by faith and added to the Lord's Church through baptism. We praise our Lord for those who trust in His substitutionary death on the cross for the remission of sins and we rejoice with the angels of Heaven over one sinner that comes to repentance. Each one is special but there is exceptional joy when one of your Grandchildren comes to Christ. Such is the case in the picture (below) of our eldest Granddaughter who made a profession of faith last year and now has been scripturally baptized and united with the Church.

Matt. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Roberts Testimony

The (Below) picture is of a man named Robert was also baptized last month along with our Granddaughter. Roberts testimony is of a man who was saved many years ago but never surrendered His life in obedience to the will of God. I would meet Robert at the house of one of our teenagers who would ride the Church van on and off over a period of about three years. We would visit week after week, month after month and year after year until God brought Robert to a place of humility and conviction about His spiritual condition much like the prodigal son. WE thought we were reaching the teen for Christ but we found out we were also reaching Robert. You never know who God is working on and we will never know if we are not faith to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Come to find out that Roberts mother had been praying for Him for over twenty years to come back to the Lord. By the way, pray for His Mother who has a tumor near her brain. Please also pray for Robert as we disciple Him and encourage Him in His walk with the Lord. To God be the glory! Matt. 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Preacher In Training

The Picture (BELOW) is of a young Preacher named Bro. Sean Herald who has surrendered to the gospel ministry through the Florida Plant. We proudly refer to Him as God called and Home grown. He is currently a student in His second year at Emmaus Baptist College in Brandon Florida. He has been a blessing to us as he serves the Lord through His local New Testament Church.

Each and every Saturday he can be found with us out in the highways and hedges serving the Lord and preaching the gospel. On Sundays he can be found running a van route, doing our doctrinal devotion and helping Sis.Terry teach the children in Jr. Church. Please pray for this young preacher as He answer's the call of God on His life.

2 Tim 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Unsung Heros

The(below) picture is of two unsung Heroes of faith who work diligently behind the scenes at the Florida Plant and First Baptist Church of East Bay in Riverview, Florida. Most of those who prayerfully and financially support the work Sis. Terry and I do know Sister Terry's love for Lord and have seen her selfless servants heart over the years in Kenya, Uganda and Florida. She continues to be a blessing to so many, not to mention this Missionary. However, the other woman in the picture, (Sis. Sheila Myers) is another exceptional Woman of God who works tirelessly behind the scenes as our Missions Treasurer as well as wearing dozens of others hats at First Baptist Church East Bay and East Bay Christian School. Its been said that behind every great man there is a great woman. Now I make no claim to greatness but I know we have a great sending Church with a great Pastor who has a great wife who serves the Lord with all her heart.

Phip. 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you

Since closing on our building in December we have started to make it our own. To that end we have knocked out more walls as you can see in the picture(Right). We are making room for as many people as the building will hold preparing for God to give the increase as He has done over the last six years.

In addition to light construction we have received a donated steeple which we hope to have in place in the coming month's. Our building is located in the commericial hub of Brooksville but yet many people do know its a church. The steeple will make a visual statement beyound the signs.

Thank you for Holding the Rope!

Php. 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,Once again we want to take this opportunity to thank our God for the Churches of the American Baptist Association as well as individual friends, family and brethren who partner with Sis. Terry and I in East African and Florida. Please keep us and the Lord's Churches in Prayer as we push towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.

Wamama Seminar & Village Evangelism

March 8, 2022

Each Landmark Baptist Church of Kenya and Uganda Sister Terry and I partner with on Mt. Elgon, the Kerio Valley and Lake Victoria are totally independent. However, one of the strengths of these New Testament Churches come from the fellowship they enjoy one with another. The fellowship which binds them together produces multiple blessings. One such blessing is continued Bible teachings to build them up in the faith as was the case of the latest Women's Seminar on Mt.Elgon. These Women love the Lord and the ones who are doing the teaching sat under and worked beside Sister Terry during our years in country. We generally support three to five seminars per year for the Women, the Youth and Pastors. This is the first time in nearly two years they been able to assemble due to CV-19 restrictions. In case your wondering how we support and encourage these meetings, we provide funds for transportation for messengers from each Church to attend and food for them during the seminar. We wish we could be with them to teach and encourage but we will not be returning until Kenya drops the vaccine mandate currently in place.

As you can see from the (above) picture, the seminar was hosted by the Landmark Baptist Church at Kipsigon. This was the first Church we planted on Mt. Elgon in 2008 after tribal clashes where over twelve hundred were slaughtered. It is worth noting that this Church has sent out many evangelists over the last forteen years to reach neighboring villages.

Women Teaching Women on Mt. Elgon

Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

Tit 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Evangelism Update: 38 Saved at Chemusesi

While the women were in the seminar learning, their Husbands, (most of who are Pastors and or Evangeslists) traveled over thirty kilometers to the village of Chemusesi to preach the gospel. God blessed their efforts and they saw thirty eight villagers make professions of faith in Jesus Christ. To God be the glory! Their faithfulness to the gospel is inspiring and we know the angels of heaven are rejoicing.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
