Reaching the Unreached

Reaching the Unreached

This is one of those reports with great news about the gospel being preached to unreached people groups in the 10/40 Window.  The 10/40 Window is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia approximately between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. The 10/40 Window is often called "The Resistant Belt" and includes the majority of the world's Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.

Approximately 5.27 billion individuals residing in 8,867 distinct people groups are in the 10/40 Window.  6,180 (69.7%) of these people groups are considered unreached and have a population of 3.26 billion.

While we are excited to share this great news, please keep in mind that we cannot share names, locations and photos with specifics due to safety concerns for those involved.  What I can tell you is that God has opened a door of opportunity for our Ministry through some of the Landmark Baptist Pastors we have worked with over the years to be instrumental in teaching, training and evangelizing this unreached country. We ask you to pray for God’s empowerment, protection and provision for those involved in these evangelism efforts as well as those who will be reached. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Pastor Bernard Khatete Goes Home

Last month Pastor Bernard Waluchilo Khatete

(Below Pic) went home to be with the Lord.  He was the Pastor at the Landmark Baptist Church at Kimatuni which is located on Mt. Elgon.   It has been a great honor to work with and invest in the lives of some the greatest Men of God in the world.  We look forward to seeing Pastor Bernard again some glad day in the presence of our Lord.

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

NEW PLOT PURCHASED

The (below) pic, is of the new plot we help purchase for the Landmark Baptist Church at Evaclet which is located at the base of Mt. Elgon.  We are thankful for our Pastor Dr. Tim Myers and 1st Baptist Church at East Bay for partnering with this new Church plant to help provide a permanent location for the Members of the Landmark Baptist Church to worship our Lord.   We currently have ten Churches organized which are meeting under tents.   Would you pray for God’s provision as we would love to partner with them to put a permanent roof over their heads?   The cost for a sanctuary is currently approximately $8000.00.    Some of these New Testament Churches have been meeting faithfully under tents for years.

Thank you for taking time to read this report. We want to thank our God for the Churches of the American Baptist Association as well as individual friends, family and brethren who partner with Sis. Terry and I in East Africa and Florida. Please keep us and the Lord's Churches in Prayer as we push towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.

THE FLORIDA PLANT BUILDING DEDICATION, NEW CROP 16 BAPTIZED

July 23, 2022

Since our last report we held a special building dedication service to praise God for His provision and to dedicate the building for Gods glory as the new stewards of the property.  We are thankful for the sacrificial giving of so many individuals and churches as well as the Churches of the Florida Mission Development.   It was a great encouragement to

Sister Terry, myself and the Church plant family to see God provide the down payment in  such  a great way  . It was also a blessing to have Pastor Tim and Sheila Myers in attendance as well as Pastor Tim Johnson from our Cosponsoring Church, Dean Springs MBC. The (below) photo was the ribbon cutting part of the service.

Isa 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.

New Crop:16 Baptized

Over the last two month's we have baptized sixteen souls at the Church plant. There are seasons of ministry where there seems to be very little fruit and then there are times that God reminds us that He is the one who gives the increase in His time.  We baptized both youth and adults who have recently received Christ and also those who were saved and needed to be baptized into the Church.   We have seen entire families  like the one (below) receive Christ and then follow Him in scriptural Baptism.

To God be the glory!

Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The 2022 annual ABA Messenger meeting in Orlando was a great blessing for Sis. Terry and me.    With the cost of deputation work these days, it remains  one of the most effective and efficient ways for Missionaries to connect with new Churches and Pastors as well as reconnect with those who have faithfully held the rope in partnership for years.  Thank you to all who stopped by our booth to encourage us to press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.   Additionally, we were able to reconnect with those who we consider Hero’s of the faith.   Sis. Terry and I are eternally grateful for Bro. Ernie and Sis. Sissy Hooper  (Pics Below) for the investment they made into our lives and Ministry in Kenya and Uganda.  It was a great blessing to see them in Orlando.

Php. 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,Once again we want to take this opportunity to thank our God for the Churches of the American Baptist Association as well as individual friends, family and brethren who partner with Sis. Terry and I in East African and Florida. Please keep us and the Lord's Churches in Prayer as we push towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.

As you can see from these pictures,Swahili Bibles are being delivered to villages on Mt.Elgon where

Landmark Baptist Evangelists have been busy winning hundreds to Christ. These new converts will be Baptized in the coming month's and organized into New Testament Churches which are nearing seventy since 2008.

In addition to the Swahili Bibles making it to new converts on Mt. Elgon, Solar powered audio Bibles continue to be delivered to the Pokot and Karamajong tribe in the Kerio Valley.  The group picture (Below) is telling of the scope and effectiveness of these audio Bibles. While they may be given to one individual for care taking, they are more often then not listened too by an entire family, neighbors or friends. Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

5000 Bricks Baked For 2nd Bible Institute

As you can see from the (below) picture, the Landmark Baptist Church at Chepsabei and their Missionary Pastor Timothy Loquardo have been forming and baking bricks (5000). It is labor intensive to form the bricks from mud and then they must be baked in a self contained oven.  It does our hearts good to see them taking the initiative to provide what they can for the second Landmark Baptist Bible Institute in the Kerio Valley to train Pastors and Preachers in Kenya and Uganda.   We will be raising funds (appox. $20,000) in the coming months to help provide the cement, trusses, poles and tin for the needed classrooms and bathrooms.   Please pray for God’s provision.

Neh. 2:18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

Pastors & Preachers Seminar on Mt. Elgon

Our Ministry sponsors continuing education seminars for these Men of God and Churches in an effort to educate the new Preachers as well as to keep the existing Churches  doctrinally sound.   The more senior Pastors are teaching and mentoring the younger Men of God. The picture below was taken last month at the recently completed  Landmark Baptist Institute located at the base of Mt.Elgon. We provide transportation resources and food for these important seminars. 2Tim. 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

New Plot Purchased and New Sanctuary Construction

The first picture below is of the latest plot which was purchased for the Landmark Baptist Church at Namanje which is located on Mt. Elgon.  They will meet under a canopy until they are able to build at a later date.  Some of these newly organized Churches have set up and taken down these tents for years. Some of them build an indigenous structure and we partner with some of them to build a permanent sanctuary.   It’s all God’s work and He has always provided for His work.   The second picture below is a new sanctuary under construction on Mt. Elgon. This more permanent sanctuary was provided by our Brethen at Sublett Rd. Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas.   It is these type of partnerships that God has used to provide as a huge encouragement to the Churches of East Africa we work with.  Thank you Sublett Road Baptist Church!  Php. 4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

Motorcycles Provided

Last month, through our faithful Ministry partners we were able to provide another Motorcycle for one of the Landmark Baptist Evangelist to use in the Mt. Elgon region.  These are valuable tools which enable the preachers to reach neighboring villages more efficiently with the gospel.   The Men of God we partner with are working hard to fulfill the Great Commission and it inspires us to come along side them and provide necessary resources to that end.

The Florida Plant

Baptisms, New Preacher & New Steeple

March 21, 2022

Obedience to the Great Commission continues to be our mission and focus at the Florida Plant. As we plow new ground, plant and water seeds we are seeing a steady crop of new converts who are coming to Christ by faith and added to the Lord's Church through baptism. We praise our Lord for those who trust in His substitutionary death on the cross for the remission of sins and we rejoice with the angels of Heaven over one sinner that comes to repentance. Each one is special but there is exceptional joy when one of your Grandchildren comes to Christ. Such is the case in the picture (below) of our eldest Granddaughter who made a profession of faith last year and now has been scripturally baptized and united with the Church.

Matt. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Roberts Testimony

The (Below) picture is of a man named Robert was also baptized last month along with our Granddaughter. Roberts testimony is of a man who was saved many years ago but never surrendered His life in obedience to the will of God. I would meet Robert at the house of one of our teenagers who would ride the Church van on and off over a period of about three years. We would visit week after week, month after month and year after year until God brought Robert to a place of humility and conviction about His spiritual condition much like the prodigal son. WE thought we were reaching the teen for Christ but we found out we were also reaching Robert. You never know who God is working on and we will never know if we are not faith to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Come to find out that Roberts mother had been praying for Him for over twenty years to come back to the Lord. By the way, pray for His Mother who has a tumor near her brain. Please also pray for Robert as we disciple Him and encourage Him in His walk with the Lord. To God be the glory! Matt. 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Preacher In Training

The Picture (BELOW) is of a young Preacher named Bro. Sean Herald who has surrendered to the gospel ministry through the Florida Plant. We proudly refer to Him as God called and Home grown. He is currently a student in His second year at Emmaus Baptist College in Brandon Florida. He has been a blessing to us as he serves the Lord through His local New Testament Church.

Each and every Saturday he can be found with us out in the highways and hedges serving the Lord and preaching the gospel. On Sundays he can be found running a van route, doing our doctrinal devotion and helping Sis.Terry teach the children in Jr. Church. Please pray for this young preacher as He answer's the call of God on His life.

2 Tim 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Unsung Heros

The(below) picture is of two unsung Heroes of faith who work diligently behind the scenes at the Florida Plant and First Baptist Church of East Bay in Riverview, Florida. Most of those who prayerfully and financially support the work Sis. Terry and I do know Sister Terry's love for Lord and have seen her selfless servants heart over the years in Kenya, Uganda and Florida. She continues to be a blessing to so many, not to mention this Missionary. However, the other woman in the picture, (Sis. Sheila Myers) is another exceptional Woman of God who works tirelessly behind the scenes as our Missions Treasurer as well as wearing dozens of others hats at First Baptist Church East Bay and East Bay Christian School. Its been said that behind every great man there is a great woman. Now I make no claim to greatness but I know we have a great sending Church with a great Pastor who has a great wife who serves the Lord with all her heart.

Phip. 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you

Since closing on our building in December we have started to make it our own. To that end we have knocked out more walls as you can see in the picture(Right). We are making room for as many people as the building will hold preparing for God to give the increase as He has done over the last six years.

In addition to light construction we have received a donated steeple which we hope to have in place in the coming month's. Our building is located in the commericial hub of Brooksville but yet many people do know its a church. The steeple will make a visual statement beyound the signs.

Thank you for Holding the Rope!
